Hermes – Florida Seude Heels

Hermes Florida Pumps

It was love at first sight with this pair of heels, and it is the Hermes Florida pumps. The Hermes ladies’ pump in black suede goat skin, rounded toe with a low-cut V, 3.9″ heel, comes in black and grey suede.

It feels too high for me to walk comfortable and the shape of the shoes made it look like I’ve got horse hooves (according to my hubby). The price tag is exorbitant at SGD1600 but I love it nonetheless and I am wishing that it was more comfortable. Still it is pretty to admire it from afar. 😉

Hermes – The Gift of Time exhibition

I checked out Hermes The Gift of Time exhibition over the weekend before it leaves for Lille, France. The exhibition is dedicated to its theme of the year – the gift of time.

Presented in collaboration with American artist Hilton McConnico who is also a scenographer, poet and long-time partner of Hermès“The Gift of Time” exhibition chronicles the famed beginnings of the Hermès story revolving around TimeHermès’ theme of 2012. Visitors will walk through a series of non-static installations and shadow boxes, while discovering Time as illustarted by Hermès and Hilton McConnico.

Beautiful murals on the walls of the now-defunct Tanjong Pagar Railway Station.

Imagerys of the horse in different galloping positions.

The exhibit depicts the origin of time with the light and sundial moving in an anti-clockwise direction, as if going back in time. The sun dial casted a shadow of a horse, reminds us the the first role of light is to make the dark more beautiful, and not to measure days and time. Very poetic isn’t it?

Hermès time does not try to master time but rather offers us the time to see and understand this ever changing world.” –Hilton McConnico

Captions in various languages reminding us to slow down and take time to appreciate everything in life.

Hermès Arceau Le temps suspendu (Time Suspended) watch display.

Tick tock, tick tock..

The Arceau watch, suspended in mid air.

The watch, behind the magnifying glass.

The Arceau Le temps suspendu time piece, suspends time. By pressing the pusher at 9 o’clock, time stops and the hour and minute hands displays the impossible time. At the same time, the date indicator disappears.

The watch continues to keep track of time until you’re ready to stop dreaming and come back to the present.

Hermès makes horse saddles too. Hermes is also designing the riding jackets to be worn by both the French Olympic 2012 Equestrian show-jumping and eventing team. The piece has been tailored using a light, flexible technical fabric, enabling the players to move comfortably.

TIME BALANCE – Night after Night, the top span and danced on the table to the rhythm of a beating heart, tracing its circle with the precision,  patience and pace of the second hand on a clock face.

It is a top spinning on its axis surrounded by a fragile dinner service on a table laid for 6.

A spinning top made from Hermès tableware.

STROKE OF TIME – The polished Hermès Torpèdo leather bag is handcrafted and as time goes by, it gets weathered and worn which is depicted by the Hermès toolbox bag attached to a pendulum striking it as each second passed.

The not-so-underlying message that Hermès was trying to convey: Hermès bags really do withstand the test of time.

Touch and feel the Cat mosiac in different Hermès leather, grain and texture.

IMAGINARY TIME –Who ? When ? How ? Where ? STOP. Escape into the imaginary, for a moment.

Hermes 2012 “The gift of time”, highlights the excellence reflected in the consummate skills of craftsmen saddlers, meticulous precision of watchmakers, virtuosity of the engravers and the dedication to quality of all artisans and designers. Without time, nothing lasting or beautiful could be brought into being.

A momento from Hermès, which is of the same great quality as the Hermès pouch for my Hermès Jypsiere’s leather strap.

You will be issued with one to keep your mobile phones and watch while in the exhibition. So you can get lost in time. 🙂

You will get the chance to write a message on an Hermès postcard and Hermès will post it out for you, regardless the destination.

After going through the exhibite, do head out to the platform where nostalgic selection of food and snacks are sold.

Enjoy your food at these tables and chairs shaped like trains in the signature Hermès orange colour.

The Hermès “The Gift of Time” Exhibition at Tanjong Pagar Railway Station will be ongoing till 12th August 2012 before it leaves for Lille, France, from 11am to 9pm daily. Admission is free.

Hermes Haul – Arceau Chronograph and Orange Verte

Hermes The Gift of Time exhibition reminded me of my haul that I bought one month ago. The Hermes Arceau – a gift for my hubby.

I also picked up the Eau d’orange Verte shower foam. (SGD75)

In 1978, Henri d’Originy imagined the Arceau model, a timeless and classically elegant watch inspired by saddler: a stirrup detail.

The original asymmetrical shape of its lugs, the elegant shape of its numerals and its equestrian references: both its design and its connotations have combined to make the Arceau an iconic Hermès watch.

Ever since, through successive evolutions and variations, the model has been constantly renewed while remaining loyal to its original spirit.

This new timepiece from the Arceau collection is dressed in chestnut livery, elegantly interpreting the brand’s original source of inspiration, the world of horsemanship. Its Swift calfskin strap as well as its numerals and hourmarkers acclaim the brand’s theme for the year, “The Great Escape”. The extended stirrup of the case, asymmetrical attachments, the beautiful rhythmic numerals on the dial, the direct-drive centre seconds-hand with its nimbus of Hermès orange, and the harmoniously integrated chronograph counters and date window are an expression of a long history of dedication and savoir-faire. The Arceau transcends time with the bold simplicity of a grand classic.

Hermes – The Gift of Time exhibition

Hermes the Gift of Time exhibition started in Hong Kong, will be making a stop at Singapore before proceeding to Lille, France. The exhibition is dedicated to its theme of the year – the gift of time.

In the course of a circular walk-through display representing time, American artist Hilton McConnico, scenographer, poet and long-time partner of Hermès, tells the story of Hermès time through poetic displays tinted with light humour, variety of colours and a series of sensory discoveries.

The visitor begins the walk contemplating the origin of time, before continuing on to free time, time suspended, in reverence to the watch, or to the stroke of time, reminding us of the patina on objects. Finally, time will be dedicated to a moment of sharing and to the transmission of memories and thoughts.

The exhibition will run from 1 Aug – 12 Aug at Tanjong Pagar Railway Station, 30 Keppel Road from 11am – 9pm daily.

Hermes Haul – Jypsiere 34 in Rouge Casaque

You might have noticed this in a few of the photos that I have taken recently. I have yet to “officially” unveil this bag even though I’ve had it since May.

The bag came in a box tied with an Hermes ribbon.

The bag and straps were housed in it’s own dustbag.

It is an Hermes Jypsiere. This bag is very special and dear to me because it is a gift from my hubby who went to a lot of trouble just to get it. I am really touched by at the lengths he went to get it.  ❤

Anyway, onto the bag..

This Hermes Jypsiere is a rouge casaque size 34, in cleamance leather and palladium hardware.

The Hermes Jypsiere reinterpreted the Hermes Kelly bag by lending it a more casual vibe with it’s massenger bag style. The bottom is rounded and the flap is longer than the Kelly. The most obvious difference is the long shoulder straps which is adjustable. I can sling it across my body or just carry it on my shoulders.

It is a very usable everyday bag, which I have carried it to work and when I am out and about running errands or shopping.

This is an eclat, meaning that the insides of the bag are of a different colour than the one outside. The red on the outside is a rouge casaque and the orange-pink on the inside is rose jaipur. These are the latest colours for Hermes Spring/Summer season 2012. Colours true to the picture above.

The straps are in rose jaipur.

There’s a zip compartment, a compartment for mobile phone and another for cards. It is roomy enough for my DSLR camera, long wallet, phone and a few lipsticks and compact powder.

Hermes bags are generally heavy for a girl to carry even when it is empty due to the leather. The shoulder straps helped to ease the strain on my shoulders when carrying the bag and I don’t feel that it is very heavy to carry. On days when I do bring my DSLR out in this bag, I would carry it across my body.

And the price for Jypsiere is SGD12,500. You can choose to buy it on the Hermes website here and prices is around USD8000. Colours available may vary.

This was bought at Hermes Scotts and according to my hubby, it was only placed on the shelves for a few hours before he bought it. So if you do see an Hermes Jypsiere, don’t hesitate too long. 😉

Thank you so much for reading.

OOTD Featuring Vrinz Destiny Flats from Zalora

I hauled this pair of flats from Zalora a few days ago and I wore them out to work on friday since it is dress-down day on fridays. I wore it with a denim dress, black cardigan and my Hermes Jypsiere.

Look at how sparkly it is 🙂

A slightly blurry shot to show off the sparkle in the shoe.

At SGD17.90, it is really cheap and affordable shoes that looks more expensive than it really costs. The silver has already sold out but the Destiny flats in pink and gold are still available here.

Thanks for reading!
